Category C Truck Theory Test Practice

Moving up to professional driving starts with the truck theory test. This practice quiz covers the ground the RSA expects category C candidates to know: vehicle safety checks, weights and dimensions, load security, driver hours and fatigue, braking systems and sharing the road safely in a vehicle with serious blind spots.

The truck exam digs much deeper into technical knowledge than the car test, so even experienced category B drivers should revise properly. Questions about air brakes, coupling, tachographs and walkaround checks trip up plenty of confident drivers who assumed road experience would carry them through.

Use this test to find your weak spots, revise, and repeat until a pass feels routine. When you’re ready for the practical side, our truck driving lessons cover everything from cab controls to test routes — and if you’re aiming for Driver CPC, start with our guide to the CPC walk-around check.
